The Key West Community Sailing Center has many funding needs, and contributions are fully tax-deductible. Your donation can help support annual operations (including our successful youth sailing program, described below) or the current capital campaign to repair damage from Hurricane Irma (featured on the home page of this site). We appreciate all contributions and are happy to talk with you about the positive difference we make in the community! Contact us at 305-292-5933.

Let's raise the match for this important project!

We all recall when Hurricane Irma and a subsequent fierce water spout demolished a critical segment of the Sailing Center’s boat docks… we can now report that major help is on the way.

The "Save Our Slips" capital campaign to rebuild our damaged slip docks received a major boost thanks to a new Challenge Grant of $50,000 from the Edward B. and Joan T. Knight Foundation. The grant will match – dollar-for-dollar – every contribution made to the Key West Community Sailing Center.

If we meet this $50,000 fundraising challenge, we will have the resources needed to rebuild the slip docks. Every $1 “match” gift will provide $2 toward our goal. Contributions are tax deductible. You may call Treasurer Russ Vickers and Commodore Jane Carper (305-292-5993) for more information.

You can help a child learn to sail!

The Sailing Center is getting under way with its 2019 summer Youth Sailing Program. The Center will be offering sailing instruction for students (ages 5 to 17). There will be ten, one week sessions, running Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. The classes will cover all skill levels, from the basics of sailing to racing.
In prior years many children have successfully completed this program and benefited from the experience. However, there are many less fortunate children who could not attend the program.
With this in mind, the Sailing Center has a Scholarship Program for summer youth sailing. The purpose of this scholarship program is to provide children in our community, who otherwise would not be able to afford sailing, to have the opportunity to learn and practice.
Each scholarship of $250 will pay for one student to attend a one week (5 days) session. Scholarships will be awarded to children from the Key West Boys and Girls Club as well as children from Wesley House and Take Stock in Children.
The Center is contributing ten scholarships to children from those organizations. We would like to be able to offer 25 scholarships. A contribution from you would enable us to do that.
Please consider donating a scholarship for a deserving child. If you can’t donate an entire scholarship, any level of contribution will be appreciated.
We are a recognized tax-exempt organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the current Internal Revenue Code, which makes your donation tax-deductible.

If you would like to consider a scholarship donation for our summer youth program of $250.00 or any amount. Simply pay online here! You can donate one or more just add to quantity if you want to give more than one scholarship.

And we still are recovering from Hurricane Irma. We have done a lot and removed damaged boats and materials from the yard. But we still have a lot to do. Big thanks to all who have helped either by coming to work at the center or with their donations. We still need support with getting new boats and fixing the docks that have been damaged.

If you would like to donate ANY amount through our Paypal account please click here! You don't need to have a paypal account to use this and you can use a credit card. THANK YOU!
